I write open source scientific software and STEM educational libraries. My primary motivator in making these tools is to provide software infrastructure for building reliable and comprehensible analytical tools.
I am an architect and lead developer of the Gonum numerical suite for the Go language. The Gonum linear algebra and graph packages form the underlying infrastructure for a number of machine learning packages written in Go.
In addition to the packages in Gonum, I am the primary author and maintainer of the bíogo bioinformatics libraries, including the biogo/hts packages which implement high-throughput sequencing data file handling.
In the area of STEM education, I am the author and maintainer of the ev3go libraries that provide Go bindings to the ev3dev LEGO® MINDSTORMS compatible robotics platforms.
Another project is the rgonomic/rgo package for R/Go integration in a similar vein to Rcpp. This project largely feature complete and sponsorship will really help this get back into focus to add support for handling of R attributes.
In addition to my main projects I also maintain a variety of smaller libraries, tools and educational packages.
