For some reason, your own fork appeared in my gg results, so I forked your fork, and I'm in the process of adding more stuff in it.
I checked the forks and it seems like you are the most active fork, so I think this message is addressed to the right person :)

So Yeah, moving defaults vhost to nginx.conf seems to make sense. It's the fallback to the brutal 444 disconnect for people trying to scan your sub-domains.
However it's still a vhost, so I'm not too hot with this idea. At the same time, it's a way to force ppl to use it, or help them not to forget to enable it. I dunno, I'm shared between forcefully following the current files organization which I love, and the necessity to enable it by default, and so may you. Have you thought about it since last summer?
