Specify7 Support / Project Alive?

Hello,

Is this project still alive? I noticed there hasn't been any commits in 3 years. Does this work with Specify 7, if so how do you get the data export from Specify 7 that can be used with this?

Webportal is still compatible with Specify 7, but exporting data from Specify 7 is not yet very user friendly (will be improved in future releases)
For now, most users who use Specify 7 have open the Specify 6 Data Exporter to create an export for webportal.

As far as the status of this project, we don't expect to do more feature development, but still provide support. This is partially because as Specify 7 gets more capable (including the permission system), it can be used to approximate a web portal. Additionally, GBIF and other organizations are beginning to provide alternatives to web portal (which can be powered by darvin core exports that Specify 7 produces)
