The requiments state the following under 5.b.ii:

GPS coordinates of each site, to include elevation and accuracy range. 
Thorough documentation is especially crucial for the sample that is returned.

So, when taking a sample we should bind all possible information against the sample. For example GPS coords, elevation, moisture levels, temperature, etc, such that when the travelling is complete, we'll be able to look back on thorough information about the environment.
