Nexus does not create dnf modular data

Hi,

I'm struggling with nexus not creating modules.yaml.gz and the corresponding repomd.xml entry.
It's interesting because proxied repositories have the modular metadata synced correctly, while selfhosted ones don't.

What I tried was to upload modules.yaml then download repomd.xml, add the entry and reupload it. That worked but after short time repodata it's recreated and modular data is not available anymore.

Was anybody able to figure it out? Or am I missing something?
