parallel_example code problem

In the file 'examples/parallel_example.ipynb' there is a function:

def init_model(model):
  pid = multiprocessing.current_process().pid
  model, _ = torch.hub.load(repo_or_dir='snakers4/silero-vad',
                                model='silero_vad',
                                force_reload=False,
                                onnx=False)

What is the point that this init function need the model param? If I remove it,what would I lost?
