I would like to use the frac feature but for U+2044 only, so that text written using the normal U+002F slash is not affected.

I had already asked on the mailing list, and it is apparently not currently possible to use TypeTuner for this. Thus here’s my feature request to make it possible.

(U+2044 not being on most peoples’ keyboards is precisely the reason why I want it to only be used for that ☻)

Since most of my Gentium use these days is from a musical notation software, which barely can do bold/italic and fails at even superscript/subscript (it uses the OS/2 tables for scaling), let alone knowing anything about OpenType features, I’m stuck with using TypeTuner for everything; there’s no way to just turn the features on/off for parts of the text.

Hi. We're not going to remove support for U+002F in that feature. That would break all docs that currently use it. The great majority of users who want the feature would expect it to work with U+002F, as that has become a de facto standard in the font industry.

We will consider making the frac feature controllable via TypeTuner Web, however that wouldn't be in the next version. It would also not allow you to make it work for only U+2044. The frac feature would remain unchanged. TypeTuner would only allow you to turn it on for both characters.

Not remove, obviously, but make a version of it that only triggers for U+2044 and not for U+002F, under a different name, which I can then turn on in TTW.
