We have no active plan to support Swagger 2/OpenAPI currently. This is functionality we'll want to support in the future, but I don't expect it to be addressed in at least the next 6 months. For anyone wanting to tackle this enhancement, I'd point you to https://github.com/signalfx/swagger-client-generator. This project is just gluing that library onto angular.
