Bug description

Describe here the issue that you are experiencing.

Recently with iOS 18 I have noticed an issue when changing the volume for voice calls on the Signal app. This behavior is not present in other apps.

If the ringing volume is too loud when I start a voice call I will usually use the volume rocker to turn the volume down. What happens is that the initial button press will increase the volume then the following volume down button presses will start to turn the volume down.

Steps to reproduce

  • set device volume to 50%
  • start a signal voice call
  • immediately turn the volume down
  • audibly observe initially device volume goes up
  • subsequent volume down button presses turns the volume down

Of note is that it doesn't seem like the device volume indicator goes up then down.

Expected result: Volume behaves normally.
