As the Installation Instructions suggests, if we install bat on Ubuntu and other Debian Based distributions, we install bat using the command sudo apt install bat, but the Official Ubuntu repository contains very outdated (v0.12.1) which was released on 3rd Sep 2019. So, it would be better if we had a "PPA" which contains the updated version to add using apt-add-repository and the Installation instructions should be updated creating a PPA.
PS: This askubuntu question might be helpful if we had to create new PPA.
