Data on COVID-19 (coronavirus) by Our World in Data.

This COVID-19 dataset is a collection of the COVID-19 data maintained by Our World in Data. This includes data on confirmed cases, deaths, and testing, as well as other variables of potential interest.

Update Frequency: Updated daily.

Dataset stats: 16801 rows (as of May 11, 2020). More details regarding the column details are given below in the Codebook section.

Dataset Profile: Pandas-profile for the dataset. Soon to be replaced with Dataprep EDA profile.

Data Sources:

  1. Confirmed cases and deaths: Data comes from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
  2. Testing for COVID-19: Data is collected by the Our World in Data team from official reports; you can find the source information for every country and further details in the post on COVID-19 testing. The testing dataset is updated around twice a week.
  3. Confirmed cases and deaths: Data is collected from a variety of sources (United Nations, World Bank, Global Burden of Disease, etc.)
