Support for shoutcast2 #193
Comments
Hello, We (SHOUTcast) are discussing with the LiquidSoap team currently about this subject. I guess we’ll find a way to allow it soon. So no need to rush to Icecast. HTH Jef On 26 Sep 2014, at 15:52, Arsimael [email protected] wrote:

I'm just sayin' I have big issues with the buggy sc_transcoder and I have to find a solution. ATM I am thinking about setting up a Icecast server and put the shoutcasts as relay on the line, but to be honest, I don't want to use two different streaming servers, if the main part of our listeners is on shoutcast. |

Hello,
Shoutcast got sold from AOL and the new owner discontinues the transcoder.
I looked into liquidsoap and it has some very nice and neat features, but still doesn't support native SC2 Streaming.
I read in an old mailinglsit from 2013 that SC2 doesn't get supported because if some gibberish licences/patents. I talked to the SC devs why they are not helping you, since there is absolutely NO alternative for the sc transcoder on linux.
One of the devs itself said there are no restrictions and stuff left which keeps anyone to implement the sc2 protocol.

Is there any chance to use liquidsoap with sc2 or are we still forced to use icecast with Liquidsoap?
Greetings
Arsimael
