matPlotLib has a great set of CVD-friendly color maps, with cividis being the newest iteration (and most color-blind friendly). So the following two colors from that map might work, for example:
If you prefer to customize the palette: "I want hue" is a half-decent tool to customize the palette and immediately check for color-blindness. The automated palette generator sucks, but the color distance measurement on the bottom left is good when creating a small color palette.

I have protanomaly, one of the many variations of red-green color-vision deficiency. It would be nice if the add-on had an option for colors that are a bit easier to distinguish for me.
