Update a plugin

I am not sure if this is solved in another way but I can't seem to find a way to update an existing plugin? From my reading, using the command line, an uninstall is required first and then the install. I think for this puppet module it would mean that it would need to check if the correct version was installed first and then issue and uninstall and install if not.
