Thanks for raising this. I'm following the discussions in ruby/resolv#45 and this ticket. And I will try to follow the recommended practice provided by Ruby Core when the discussions are concluded.

any news on this? ruby/resolv#45 has been closed after solving the issue via this Pull Request: ruby/resolv#55

Other gems took a similar path, like: ruby/timeout@6c99460

Are there any plans to clarify the used licenses for irb? Thanks in advance!
