This process mostly works but there is room for improvement:

Need to periodically send a keep-alive. If a power outage reboots the node running this process, the DrMem driver doesn't detect it.
This should transmit error codes for conditions like
- Pump being on too long
- Unreasonable change in duty cycle (i.e. 10% duty cycle going to 0% is not realistic.)
