When downgrading to 35.155.0 it works again. For each npm package we have a separate repository with a file called "CHANGELOG.md" which contains the release notes. According to the logs, the URL "https://gitlab.foo.bar.company/lorem/ipsum/my-npm-package" to the repository is invalid. However, it has not changed between releases and there have been no changes to the permissions. Copy+Paste to the browser works. The address is correct. Relevant debug logs35.155.0
