To be investigated

When we build a quarkus runtime using the paketo builder image "paketobuildpacks/builder-jammy-tiny", then we observe, that part of the buildpack detection process: the "spring-boot", "tomcat", "tomee" & "liberty" buildpacks are detected.

===> DETECTING
Timer: Detector started at 2023-09-14T08:08:34Z
10 of 26 buildpacks participating
paketo-buildpacks/ca-certificates   3.6.3
paketo-buildpacks/bellsoft-liberica 10.2.7
paketo-buildpacks/syft              1.33.0
paketo-buildpacks/maven             6.15.5
paketo-buildpacks/executable-jar    6.7.4
paketo-buildpacks/apache-tomcat     7.13.7
paketo-buildpacks/apache-tomee      1.7.4
paketo-buildpacks/liberty           3.8.3
paketo-buildpacks/dist-zip          5.6.4
paketo-buildpacks/spring-boot       5.26.1

Different points should be investigated here:

  • Why are they detected ?
  • Is there a way to by pass them ?
  • Do we have to create our own builder image where such buildpacks are not included ?
