The current logo reminds me of the Solaar icon. I assume it represents a *, as a metaphor for a hidden digit in a password field.
With the app being developed for gnome, it would make sense to change the icon to something, which follows the gnome guidelines. https://developer.gnome.org/hig/guidelines/app-icons.html
The icon could represent a key, like keyrack. Or a password field, representing goldwardens unique features. Or to represent it being a Bitwarden frontend, it could represent a shield.
Maybe the name could be something else, but I think that's alright. It's clear, it being associated to Bitwarden, but the gold is indicating that it's doing more, than the regular client.

I'll note that while the gui frontend uses gtk4/libadwaita, this is not an app targeted specifically at gnome, or gnome circle, so there is no obligation to follow their guidelines.
