I'm not sure it's a conda , a pip or a poetry issue.
I ran into some issue when trying a conda package for a package managed with poetry.
It is strange since afaik all pip commands used in conda-forge should be compatible with pep517 / poetry.
Also, it used to work with pip==20.0.2 and a simple workaround is to freeze this version.
I'm affraid I can't reproduce the bug outside of the container used to build the conda package. I created an issue against conda-smithy with detailed information : https://github.com/conda-forge/dolang-feedstock

I can't quite tell what went wrong here, and given the age of this issue, I'm gonna go ahead and close this out.

Yes I can confirm the issue has disappeared.
There is another one linked to the fact that poetry v1.1.15 does not understand the new section "[tool.poetry.group.dev.dependencies]" in pyproject.toml even though it is the latest available version on conda. There is a workaround and the issue is followed there: python-poetry/poetry#6441
