User survey

A useful thing to know as we move forward is what people want out of this specification! Information like which software tools they currently use, what HAS to be true in order for them to use a tool, how much help they need with various parts of data management.

To that end, I'd like to aim to send out a survey that asks about people's needs in a little more detail. Critically, something we can distribute to subfield listservs beyond the twitter contingent (I suspect that crowd shares some assumptions/tool preferences that are not common off twitter.)

Useful contributions right now:

• Comment with questions you think we should ask! (Eventually will migrate this to a draft questionnaire)
• Comment with listservs that this survey could/should go to (FAIR WARNING - if you comment with an area that I (@mekline) am not in, I'll be asking for volunteers to actually post the survey when the time comes!
