Re-use/join BIDS effort to possibly define Psych-DS in terms of perspective BIDS 2.0?

As psych-ds AFAIK is BIDS-inspired and at large follows various aspects of it (e.g. file naming convention like gender-female_type-faces_data.csv)

I don't know if you were following BIDS development recently but

• BIDS "evolved" to be come schema driven. So all entities and other rules including for validation are now coded in the schema (a little ad-hoc but there): https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-specification/tree/master/src/schema
• there is an idea (well, of yours truly, not yet fully discussed or formalized) to allow BIDS to be come more flexible in terms of hierarchy, so e.g. in the case of Psych-DS it could be different entities composing the file hierarchy etc. Make it possible to specify folders layout to be other than sub-{label}/[ses-{label}/] bids-standard/bids-2-devel#54

Then, if you see it possible to express psych-ds in terms of such a more flexible BIDS (and I would be eager and happy to hear your thoughts on this), then you could just "reuse" bids validator and at large converge back into Psych-DS to become a direct BIDS relative ;)
