I'm always frustrated when I paint supports onto a model, slice it and then remember that support generation is off by default. I then get more frustrated when I go and turn it on, then also forget that auto-generation of supports is on by default, and end up re-slicing the model a 4th time to change Snug to Organic.
Describe the solution you'd like
Generate Support default to on
Auto-generate Supports default to off
Describe how it would work
I would paint supports, hit Slice and get supports :)
Describe alternatives you've considered
Remembering things ;)

(From a fellow user) They're not going to change the default. A big selling point of a good printer is the ability to create objects without supports when they're designed appropriately. You can close the issue yourself.
