The prometheus-operator service is pointed to the kube-rbac-proxy container. But since AWS EKS has a managed control plane, we cannot configure the apiserver authentication, and the webhook calls bounce with a status 401.

We're investigating how to enable the prometheus-operator validating webhook with kube-prometheus running on AWS EKS.
The prometheus-operator service is pointed to the kube-rbac-proxy container. But since AWS EKS has a managed control plane, we cannot configure the apiserver authentication, and the webhook calls bounce with a status 401.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to work around this?
