Context

Commodore and Commodore components use GitHub Actions as its CI platform. GitHub actions are versioned. Updates to those actions need to be maintained. Dependabot has support for GitHub actions (see https://docs.github.com/en/free-pro-team@latest/github/administering-a-repository/keeping-your-actions-up-to-date-with-github-dependabot).

  • GitHub Actions of Commodore are automatically kept up to date.
  • GitHub Actions of Commodore component template are automatically kept up to date.

This could also be done by Renovate, once renovatebot/renovate#5733 is implemented.

This would leave us with only one solution for dependency management...

So, this is now implemented and Renovate does it by default: projectsyn/lieutenant-api#92
