Maybe not the best place to put this, but wondering if having some sort of chat (like IRC) would be good. Might be better for more casual/quick discussions than Discourse? Might be good to set up early to early users have a place to hang out?
We kind of discussed this in the past, and decided we might not want to use Slack as it's proprietary and limit your history (although it's a zero-headache solution).
We'll want something with a Good UI and accessibility through browser (users shouldn't have to install a new program or app). Seems like we'll have to self-host and self-manage if we want unlimited message history, unlimited users, etc. (could start on Slack but migrating will get harder with time).
Ended up setting up a Slack workspace since it's so easy and familiar to people. We have 10,000 messages and 5 GB, so if we ever hit that limit then we can look into self-hosting.
