Karabiner possibly causing persistent bugs in CoolerMaster keyboard #4006

Hi,

I have a CoolerMaster QuickFire TK keyboard that is almost 10 years old, but it is working perfectly fine. In my day to day usage, I switch between using it in Mac for work and Windows/Linux for personal stuff.
This keyboard has 4 backlight modes: all LEDs on, breathing mode, WASD only and OFF. About 1 month ago, while I was using Mac, the backlight mode switched to OFF unexpectedly. When I tried to switch the mode pressing FN+F4 (mode switch), the keyboard would stop responding to any key press and I had to disconnect and reconnect to get it back working, but the LEDs would stay OFF after turning the keyboard on.
I thought the keyboard PCB was damaged and accepted this fate. However, after 1~2 weeks, the backlight mode switched to WASD by itself and then, after a few more days, it was back to all LEDs on, with the keyboard fully working and being able to switch backlight modes without any problem.
Fast forward more 2 weeks and, again, using Mac after a Karabiner update, the issue reappeared: all LEDs are off and trying to switch modes makes the keyboard crash.

I can't say with certainty that Karabiner is the cause of this (it could have been a coincidence), but I decided to post it here in case more people are having this issue and there is a possible solution for it.

Thanks
