Issue/Bug Description:

Power profile can be set to 'Power Saver' from the settings menu, but not from the command line.

Steps to reproduce (if you know):

  1. Change power settings via Settings menu
  • Restart computer
  • Enter Settings -> Power
  • Switch power profile from 'Balanced' to 'Power Saver'

  1. Try to change power settings via command line.
  • Open terminal
  • Run system76-power profile battery
  • Command returns:
Battery power profile is not supported on desktop computers.

Expected behavior:

The system76-power command line utility should be able to achieve the same settings that can be accessed through the graphical Settings menu.

Other Notes:

Before dismissing this issue, please note there is a good reason that I want to set the power profile to 'Power Saver' on a desktop computer.

I am using a Thelio Mira. I want to change the power settings via command line because I want to set the default power profile to Power Saver on startup.

I have found that the default Balanced power profile runs rather hot under heavy workloads (85+ C temps) with very loud fan noise. I suspect that these high thermals may have contributed to a GPU hardware failure on a previous desktop computer. Changing the profile to 'Power Saver' eliminated these problems. Thus, I want to set the default power profile to 'Power Saver' to avoid the possibility of high thermals.
