Noticeable input lag in fullscreen

Issue/Bug description:

Repeated input is slow when window is fullscreen.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open cosmic editor.
2. Toggle fullscreen.
3. Press any alphanumeric key and hold.

Expected behavior:

There should not be a noticeable lag when in fullscreen.

My resolution is 3840x2160.
