Pointer not receiving or handling an "out" or "release" event when mobile safari is swiped from the side (for navigation) #1069
Comments
iOS 15 appears to have resolved this issue. Closing |
I saw this problem happen again on iOS 14.0. |
I also reproduced the problem on iPad 7 running 14.0.1 testing on gravity and orbits 1.2.0-dev.16 |
@samreid did your reproduction freeze the sim and make it unable to be used? I could follow the steps, but when I when back to the sim, the sim basically reloaded for me on iOS 14, so everything still worked. |
I saw the same symptoms as described in phetsims/gravity-and-orbits#340 where the sim was usable except for the slider. The sim did not reload for me. |
This strikes me as an edge case not worth pursuing at the moment, deferring. |
The full description is in phetsims/gravity-and-orbits#340. The summary is that when picking up a "touchSnag" object in the sim while also dragging the edge of the browser (for mobile safari forward/back navigation), then dismissing the forward/back navigation by letting go, the node remains "busy" and cannot be interacted with for the rest of the sim runtime, including after reset all.
@ariel-phet can you please review, prioritize and delegate? This is @jonathanolson's area of expertise.
