I was thinking about whether it was important to grab the high frequency angle logs and I'm not sure it is. [The study] will be able to know from the state of the masses on the beam if it is in balance, so [they] will know which way it will start tipping and the degree to which the masses are out of balance without needing to know the angle.
For the long-term instrumentation, it seems like the plank angle should be instrumented. I agree that this study would not need it, but maybe the way to achieve it is to continue to use phetioEmitHighFrequencyEvents=false
