1.8.0.dev1 is prepared, but PyPI will not accept the artifacts:

HTTPError: 400 Client Error: The description failed to render in the default format of reStructuredText. See https://pypi.org/help/#description-content-type for more information. for url: https://upload.pypi.org/legacy/

It seems possible that this is due to #1708, or alternatively that they've changed their RST renderer (mentioned in the link) and we need to conform to the new rendering.

It sounds like this is related to pypi/warehouse#4079 , which was recently reverted. Will try again.
