I'm getting the error, "The directory sites/default/config is not writable." So, I can't get D8 installed on Pantheon at present.

Can you make sure that the site is in SFTP mode? It should be getting set to that by default, but sometimes this doesn't work.

I've the same problem, maybe it is useful to switch the D8 trial to SFTP as default.
