There is a lovely schema for labels: http://label-schema.org/rc1/
A nifty default would be to include as many of those as possible to automate.

I mainly use Docker with kubernetes, since kubernetes can't access Docker image's label, I rarely find good use case of docker label.
PR is certainly welcomed, since there are certainly many people out there managing docker images directly.
