hmm, Verbana's "Motivation" section there is pretty good at summarizing the related problem space :) I do still remember that short period of not knowing the keybindings nor how the chat works, while people were trying to chat with me when thinking I was somebody else. All that while starving to death after losing noobkit drowning in a fountain (which at least didn't contain any sharks).

i don't think it's possible to update from xban to verbana directly, so sban is a middle step but yeah figuring out how to update to verbana to solve a problem that hasn't appeared yet [troll abusing dynamic ip or vpn] might be a waste of time

I guess then question is more about what issues verbana would solve? If needed Pandorabox already has ability to ban user account, IP address, IP block/subnet, ASN (and through that also VPN services), certain clients or new accounts. There's just not a lot of automation for it, just a little bit. However it wouldn't be a lot of work to finish what has been started already. xban is mostly used for simple account / ip bans, works fine for that. then other things are used (thankfully very rarely) to block cases that really cause significant problems.

verbana is basically a tool to manage ASN's, if pandorabox has those tools too, i believe this is solved then
