Userstory

As a user I want to quickly reach different files/folders without knowing where it is located or how it is exactly named.

Acceptance Criteria

  • recent Click on empty search field shows recently entered search phrases

  • typeahead on entering characters, search suggestions are shown

  • refresh on every keystroke the search suggestions get refreshed

  • search suggestions if appropriate, first suggestions show maching recent searchprases; below show suggestions of matching filenames

  • emphasise the users search phrase in the search suggestions

  • Seach suggestion box shows:

    • Scope: the app or area where the items where found, eg. in files-app, comments, tags, contacts, settings etc.. Scope (=Category / Apps) is only shown, if items where found in more than 1 scope.
    • number of found matches
    • button "Show all results"
  • Search suggestion items contain:

    • icon: "recent", "magnifier", "fileicon" or app/contact etc icon
    • filename
    • name: last modified by
    • date: last modified
    • parent folder (clickable, tooltip "Open folder xy")
  • Filter:

    • date modified
    • persons (shared by, owner)
    • tag
    • location (folders)
    • search within (scopes like files, comments, tags contacts etc.)
    • size
    • metadata (could be many and dynamic, maybe extra filter?)

Suggestion Quicksearch (Scenario "nürn")

Disclaimer: This is not design draft and is only meant to depict which functions and Information should be presented.
Would be nice if we could also add the parent folder next to matching files. Box.com eg. does it like that.

In my opinion, this story is outdated, as we already implemented a lot but also did things differently from the mock ups.
Please re-open if I am wrong.
