Web Updater: Show progress steps when checking the system

When doing a update via the web updater, a new screen is opened.
Then it takes a loooong time and nothing happens.
htop shows sometimes activities.
After a while, you get (when everything has passed) a positive statement and you can continue.

It would be very good to know the total number of steps beeing checked and at which step the check currently is.
