Please implement OAuth for applications.
Users should not give their username/password to applications.
If you install a news reader app on android it should be possible to only grant access to news and not to the files/calendars/contacts

Great request, but pls be aware of its pitfalls (e.g. non-signed not-client-dependent tokens) c. f. http://vimeo.com/52882780

I'd love to see this - my web login now uses 2-factor authentication with one-time (HOTP-based) passwords generated by my Yubikey (see tutorial at http://www.sj-vs.net/two-factor-authentication-for-owncloud-using-one-time-passwords-otp-from-yubikey/), but remote.php (for WebDAV and desktop sync) is not protected by 2-factor authentication.
