Is there a setting to disable comments? I have made a dirty edit to the template to remove the comment engine from loading however still get the x comments messages next to the posts. One settings to turn this on/off globally or for each post would be good.

Happy to try and make the change myself if the community deem it useful, might take a week or two as I'm unfamiliar with the template engine.

It would by my recommendation that comments should only be loaded if the disqus_shortname is changed from 'example'. Equally that GA code should only be added if the ga_ua != 'UA-XXXXX-X'.

I would like to move away from the idea that themes require an edit in order to be used. At the moment, the majority of themes are requiring disqus shortnames be added and other modifications, whereas if the bits of comment-related code were wrapped in an if statement testing for 'example', and only included if this wasn't the case then Ghostium would work out of the box with no need to change anything.
