Migration from Google Maps
Hi, I'm using Osmand+ since purchased in 2013. However Google Maps was still the main app for travelling and all organization around.
Since Google removed (without any optional user setting) the important function about account Timeline shared between devices and some other related functions, I'm going to migrate completely to OsmAnd and need to find some alternatives for often used functions.
This was the setup that is now broken by Google: Each device has a personal account and a shared account. Each device timeline was stored in the personal account. All saved locations are saved in the shared account and available to all devices. Now after the Google changes, the timeline is now only available on the device itself and can't be used outside on other devices or Web Browsers. Additionally we also had a shared search history to all devices on the shared account, which is broken now as well.
This should become a central discussion about all these issues when migrating from Google Maps to Osmand. There will be split discussions linked here. Finally after discussing there might be Feature requests derived. Some of the issues might rather be questions to Google, but might be interesting in this context as well.
If some of the points have duplicates already we can link them here. This could be an umbrella ticket about all issues when coming from Google Maps.

Routing quality
Finally the routing and navigation is still not as good as Google Maps, but maybe related to the availability and quality of the Open Streetmap data on that location. I often got into infinite circular navigation with wrong one-way streeets and stuff and was only able to get to the location by switching to Google Maps. Of couse, that might get improved over time and updates of OSM, if not contributing myself to OSM eventually...
And yes, I'm going to try different routing backends...
For switching between Online and Offline Routing, I just duplicated my whole profile and switched the routing method. But that makes it harder to synchronize any changes to these 2 profiles. It would be interesting to have some automatic distance threshold switching to online routing, or some temporary routing option.
