Language is still a barrier for some users to pick up new tools.
While oscar is intuitive to an experienced user (db expert or a programmer), other users need more examples in their language to pick up new interfaces.
Take http://overpass-turbo.eu/ as example, it's interface almost perfect for QL feature set: more descriptive buttons = less commands to learn = less commands to teach. Otherwise we would simply query database using SQL like languages.

Thank you for your hint. We'd like to support multiple languages, unfortunately oscar is currently a one-man project and above all a research project. The old interface is indeed rather simple. We're already working on improving it, though we currently don't have the resources to add multiple languages. You may want to have a look at oscardev.fmi.uni-stuttgart.de or oscargui.fmi.uni-stuttgart.de which was created as part of a master thesis of a student of ours. In the end our goal is to create a search engine that can be used without expert knowledge.
@dbahrdt, thank you for suggestion, I haven't seen these! Usually you just place all information about some project in readme.md file in git repo (project scope and how to contribute, link to latest versions)
You may want to have a look at ... and ...
Both of them miss "contact" or feedback tab about "how to translate" or "how to contribute" back to this project (with link to https://github.com/dbahrdt/oscar-web). Simply give a reader hint that pull requests are welcome.
cppcms is quite hardcore for regular programmers, you will get much better support and feedback if site is written using common web technologies (any scripting language or Java)

What are the basic requirements to qualify as an Open Source account?
Open Source projects are ones with publicly available source codes licensed under an OSI-approved license. Open Source projects on Transifex are always public.
