iCub-Tech is happy to announce our Software Distro 2020.11 📦
This is a major release that comprises binary packages as well. Therefore, follow the instructions available in the wiki to upgrade your system and/or download the new dependencies.
This distro is shipped with several updates and fixes, including the ones listed hereafter:
🆕 Updates
💥 iCub 3 urdf models
This release adds a first version of iCub 3 (a.k.a iCubGenova09) urdf model. 🤖
You can find it downloading the latest version of icub-models
This is the very first model completely built through the procedure we designed (see here for reference) for generating the urdf starting from the CAD.
This model has been created with tight collaboration with the @robotology/iit-dynamic-interaction-control group, which gave us useful feedback during the process🙏 .
💥 iCub v2.x new urdf models
Recently, new versions of iCub have been released(v2.6 and v2.7, see here the [versioning][table] ), with this release, we added the corresponding urdf models, in order to allow to test these new versions of iCub in simulation.
In particular, we created the urdf models called respectively iCubGazeboV2_6 and iCubGazeboV2_7 that carry the new features mounted on the real robots(e.g. new/additional imus etc.).
💥 App deployment
A list of brand new applications have been added to our robot-bazaar
💥 Audio support included by default in robotology-superbuild
This release added support to automatically compile all the YARP devices required for audio support on iCub.
This means that the YARP devices AudioPlayerWrapper, AudioRecorderWrapper, portaudioPlayer and portaudioRecorder are now
enabled by default in the superbuild without the need of manually enabling YARP options, and they are included
in the Windows binary installers as well.
