we can make the tutorial collapsable but having it there can be very useful for certain tabletop card games which can get complicated with rules the right side of the homepage can definitely have a social tab like the one you drew and a list of lobbies too the profile card is a cool idea but i'd definitely have to SUPER shrink it since it shouldn't be the entire page with all these ideas we can probably make a better mockup of the homepage |

this was the original UI concept for lobbies in 2D i made a very long time ago
the "bar" at the top doesn't have a background even though it looks like it does here - so it inherits the background whatever game is below it.
the top right has an "exit lobby" button which does the exact same thing as pressing the OMG logo on the top left (it will ask you if you're sure you want to leave the lobby before actually leaving, though)
NEXT: the social button - which shows how many of your friends are online. this would open up a menu of sorts somewhere - maybe over the chat - and you'd be able to join your friends, chat with them, add friends, and view profiles
FINALLY: the settings button - which i'm going to change from the current cog wheel icon to a profile picture like twitch does
the "tutorial space" shows a carousel of images showing how to play the current lobby's game.
at the bottom there's another content bar for general OMG stuff just like the top one - except this one has coins, levels, and more stuff. the chat can cut into this space if there's room for it to, but the game cannot. as with the top bar, it inherits the background of the game
next is a REALLY early concept of the main homepage i did on Roblox when i was super, super young
first, the bars i talked about previously have to be on the top and bottom - so it wouldn't be fullscreen like it is in this picture - remember this is a really old concept but it's still REALLY good.
another neat idea in this i want to talk about is the bar at the top which welcomes you back to the website. i think this is awesome, and it's based on how long you've been gone from the website! so if you've been gone a long time, it would say something like "We've missed you, Lame Guest!" or "It's been a while, Lame Guest! Welcome back!"
i'd probably remove the profile card - as it's not really useful, but maybe it could move to somewhere else.
then there are the game cards which look very nice - and something i really want to do is actually show games that are currently in progress there so you can watch actual people play right from the homepage (with muffled sounds)! it should also show if any of your friends are playing that game currently so you can join their lobbies from the get-go.
for the "play now" button - it would take you to that game's page where you can find a lobby to play in or create your own, and a tutorial on how to play.
I want to reimagine this homepage layout as it's really old, but generally it's a good start and a lot of the ideas are very good! any comments or suggestions are appreciated
