Music Assistant streams audio to the speaker(s) using a local streaming service hosted on TCP port 8095 by default. make sure this port is reachable from your devices on the local network. The IP-address sent to the speaker is resolved from the "internal URL" field within the Home Assistant configuration.
First add your device using the DLNA integration in Home Assistant, then open the Music Assistant configuration and add the device to the players list.
Features:
Supports all speakers supported by the DLNA integration in Home Assistant that support the "play_media" service.
By default Music Assistant sends a FLAC stream to the device, if the FLAC codec is not supported by your device (and thus playback doesn't work), you may want to change the codec to mp3.
By default Music Assistant tries to send metadata to DLNA compatible players using the "ICY metadata" standard, encoded in the audio stream. This may hinder playback though for players that do not understand this. If you experience weird pops/clicks in the audio, you should disable metadata.
The settings to configure the stream codec and metadata mode is tucked away in the settings:
Music Assistant --> Click Queue --> Click the 3 dots context menu in the top right --> Settings --> Advanced
