As you may have noticed, we are currently developing Hawtio v3, starting in earnest at the beginning of 2023 and now up to 3.0 M5 as a milestone release.
What is Hawtio v3
The current Hawtio v2 is based on AngularJS v1 and PatternFly v3, and it also relies on a number of other older components, making it difficult to maintain and extend functionality. The aim of Hawtio v3 is to refresh this project based on new components and to enable future enhancements and maintenance. Specifically, Hawtio v3 will be based on the following technology stack:
The JS component part of Hawtio v3 is developed under the following hawtio-next project.
Roadmap to v3 GA
We hope to release Hawtio v3 GA by the end of this year. The specific roadmap is as follows.
April 2023 - Hawtio 3.0 M5 / hawtio-next 0.2.0 release
This milestone has already been released. This release includes the following plugins:
June 2023 - Hawtio 3.0 Mx / hawtio-next 0.3.0 release
The current targeted release is hawtio-next 0.3.0, scheduled for June. This release is targeted to complete the Camel plugin and will include the following plugins:
July 2023 - Hawtio v3 (Standalone) initial beta release
By July this year, we'd like to release the first Hawtio v3 beta, which is based on the previously released hawtio-next 0.3+. This "standalone" release will implement the minimal plugins listed above, plus runtime support for the following:
For support for Spring Boot 3, Quarkus 3 and Camel 4, refer to the following issue:
Deployment as WAR will continue to be provided, but Apache Karaf and WildFly, which were supported until Hawtio v2, will not be supported in v3. We won't test the deployment to Apache Tomcat as well.
The following authentication methods will be supported:
Q3 2023 - Hawtio Online v2 initial beta release
At the same time, we will proceed upgrading of Hawtio Online, which makes Hawtio available on Kubernetes/OpenShift. In Q3 of this year, we will release a beta release of Hawtio Online v2, based on the version of hawtio-next released so far.
Platform support provided by Hawtio Online v2 includes:
For OpenShift, the operator-based installation with Hawtio Operator will be also provided.
End of 2023 - Hawtio v3 / Hawtio Online v2 / hawtio-next 1.0.0 release
Finally, we will release hawtio-next 1.0.0 by the end of this year, which will be the basis for the GA release of Hawtio v3 and Hawtio Online v2. hawtio-next 1.0.0 will include the following plugins:

Please send feedback, requests, and bug reports for Hawtio v3 to the GitHub Issues:
For issues specific to the JS component part, please directly report them here:
With limited development resources, there is uncertainty in whether we will be able to deliver releases following this plan, but we will develop Hawtio v3 according to this plan this year.
We look forward to the day when we can deliver the new Hawtio to you!
