How to get notifications from the epiverse-trace Discussions board?

I'm looking for alternatives for the broader community and people within the organization, and if they differ.

I found a concrete answer from a GitHub community question on How can I watch an organization's discussion?. Only 1 out of 4 of the solutions worked for me until now, some specific steps:

• Solution 4. Use an RSS feed: The feed URL that worked for me was https://github.com/orgs/epiverse-trace/discussions.atom using a Browser Add-on, in my case Feedbro.

• Alternative. Subscribe with Slack: I used the github-slack integration in a temporarily private slack channel. The corresponding repo for this discussion is on the epiverse-trace.github.io repo. I follow these steps:

  • first, /github subscribe epiverse-trace/epiverse-trace.github.io discussions
  • then, /github unsubscribe epiverse-trace/epiverse-trace.github.io issues pulls commits releases deployments to only get notifications from discussions.

With this post, I'll test if these options work as expected.

Update:

• Github+Slack integration and RSS feed work nicely as instant notifications.
• the "Watch the repository" solution did not provide the same type of response.

for specific discussion categories, this blog shows how github+slack integration has that option.

comments within Discussions are not notified in both. As an alternative, you can subscribe to one specific Discussion with the 🔔 Subscribe button on the right under the Notifications section.

PS: Regarding Solution 1 from the above reference about the "Watch the repository", I tested the "Custom -> [x] Discussion" option and didn't create an instant notification as with the default "Participating and @mentions" option.

For people within the organization, Maintainers do receive automatic email notifications, but Collaborators apparently don't.

Collaborators are subscribed when:

• they are @mentioned by someone,
• the collaborator comment on a post, or
• the collaborator pushes the 🔔 Subscribe button on the right under the Notifications section.
