Does my account need to be at least 6 months old to get approved for GitHub sponsors?

Hey Everyone,

I am Abinash, I created my GitHub account 3 weeks ago and quickly started working on my first open-source project and still working on it.

I already got 100+ stars and 13 forks on my project. (because ChatGPT suggested to apply for GitHub sponsors after getting certain amount stars and forks.)

I applied for the GitHub sponsor about a week ago. (exactly on Sept. 15, 2024, Sunday)

But form then my profile has been under review and nothing received through mail.

I have already read the FAQs. But on a YouTube video, someone said that your account needs to be at least 6 months old and needs lots of commits to get approved.

It will be helpful for me if someone either from the GitHub team or outside can explain to me whether it is true or not.

I have already read all the FAQs and also checked other discussions.

Yesterday, I created a ticket regarding this issue.

I know, GitHub team currently facing hard time to meet the high amount of requests but I raised the issue to know if something is missing or incorrect in my application form.

I hope my issue will be resolved soon.
