N+1 queries

Describe the bug

Summary
Sentry reports that there are cases of N+1 queries. Not direct problem (as far as I can tell it only makes things slower and does not cause errors). These should be made better.

Expected behavior

Queries should be rewritten and/or more memory for postgres to make this problem go away.
