This ticket is an enhancement to #643 .
This will have more features for config panel of Histogram as mentioned in opensearch-project/dashboards-observability#125 .

Features to implement:

  1. Panel options
  • Use common panel options
  1. Data configurations
  • Use common data configurations.
  1. Graph styles
  1. Thresholds
  • Similar to thresholds in timeseries.

Hi @mengweieric

For data configurations you have mentioned to include dimensions and metrics, but for histogram, we only send the value of x-axis in the visualization and y-axis is used to represent the frequency of the values occurring on the x-axis. So do we implement both dimensions and metrics or just dimensions with multiple selection?

Thanks!!

Hi @mengweieric

As per the discussion in yesterday's status call, we will be having bucket size and bucket offset instead of data configurations for histogram. Should I put bucket size and bucket offset on the left of visualization instead of metrics and dimension under the heading data configurations? If yes, can you share the UI of the same.

Thanks!!
