Hi @njudd following scope review we feel this software is not in scope at JOSS. Typically software with only a small amount of code will be flagged for close review, and only permitted where there's strong reasoning. As this package focuses on one type of functionality we would not consider this in scope. |

@samhforbes The original rainclouds plotting paper has 1336 citations highlighting the broad appeal of rainclouds and our package is averaging 1700 downloads per month. I don't understand why |
@njudd this decision is neither a reflection on the quality of the work, nor on whether the package can be used in research or has appeal, but rather that it does not meet our definition of research software for this Journal - a definition that has tightened over time.
